Quite surprisingly, a great deal many commercially grown plants are not usually propagated with the use of pumpkin seeds. In many cases, cloning is the preferred method of propagation. The plants that typically do not make use of pumpkin seeds for commercial propagation include- bananas, potatoes, sugarcane, yams, and most fruit bearing trees. Even if many of these plants do make use of pumpkin seeds to spread their species, this is often too slow a process for commercial planting and harvesting, as is the case with many frut trees, which are normally cloned.
